To replace a washer pump could either be very difficult or very simple. It's all location location location. What I suggest you do is go to a local auto parts store and asked the counter person to either show you the washer pump or ask them if they know were the washer phone is on your car. The most difficult part of the task is going to be getting at the washer pump. On some cars it's in plain sight and simple to replace or like on my 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. You have to check the car up take the inner fender skirt loose and then you can get at the pump . Which means you have to have a floor jack. So these are just some of the obstacles hope this helps thanks Brad

n asked:

My windshield washer fluid hasn’t been working, and I was told today that my pump is broken. Is this something I can do myself to save some money? Does anybody have any tips on how to do it? I drive a 2002 Olds Alero. Thanks!
I realize that I can take it to a garage (duh!), but the point of me asking this question is that I would like to save money and do it myself if possible. Thanks for any tips you might have!

i’m in to off road racing, but i’m only 16. so i only have one truck. i want my truck street legal but at the same time have suspension, and other off road accesories. but if i do happen to crash i don’t want the glass to shatter and hurt me and my passenger. i want to be able to take it off and put it back on. about the rock, i will always have a helmet. i’m into all types of offroading and, i always wear a helmet. if my truck ever does roll and everything gets twisted up the glass will most likely not stay together.
to kyle h: if i’m following my dad in his truck and a rock like that hits my windshield how am i gonna get back home. like i said. i want it to be street legal. so i want to take it off and put it back on. the old volkswagons had it where you can flip it open. i will be using that truck to get out to the desert, and having fun with it.
to nvhschem guy: i will have safety restraints. they come over both shoulders, over your stomach, and between your legs, like a car seat but these are going to be bolted down.
